We are The Feast Ortigas District!
Humble Beginnings
On September 9, 1980, Bro. Eugenio Sanchez Sr. and his wife Sis. Pilar Sanchez organized the first prayer meeting of The Light of Jesus Family (LOJF) at the garage of their house. Their 12-year-old son, Bo Sanchez, led the prayer meeting. There were only about 30 regular attendees then, and the group was called The Light of Jesus Community.
Fast forward to today, there are now over 150 Feasts all over the world. The Feast is a weekly prayer gathering of the LOJF which has a Holy Mass, high-spirited worship, and inspirational talks about the Catholic faith and practical Christian living. Bro. Bo Sanchez established the Feast in the early 2000s with the vision of spreading God’s Word to the ends of the earth. The growing community has been clustered into regions and districts, and one of which is the Feast Ortigas District.
A Safe Place at the Heart of the Metro
The Feast Ortigas District (FOD) is a family of Feasts consisting of the Galleria, Valle Verde, and Greenhills sessions. Officially, it is known as the Light of Jesus Family Mega Manila South Quezon City and San Juan District, Inc.
The Feast Ortigas started in 2009 at the Penthouse of the Prestige Tower with around 50 attendees. To date, FOD oversees 10 sessions attended by couples, families, and young professionals. In 2015, it also opened its own Feast Center at the Lower Level of Robinsons Galleria. It’s a safe place where people from all walks of life are welcomed and loved. The Feast Ortigas District is headed by Bro. Vic Español, one of the respected leaders and elders of the Light of Jesus Family. Helping him to shepherd God’s flock are the committed builders of FOD namely Bro. JPaul Hernandez, Bro. Ped Faytaren, Bro. Mike Ybiernas, Bro. Joel Saludares, Bro. Jerome de Leon, Bro. J Yogawin, and Bro. Anthony Rodriguez.
It humbly started in 2009 with around 50 people gathering every Monday at the Penthouse of Prestige Tower in Ortigas City. With the grace of God and the perseverance of its leaders and servants, it grew over the years. In 2015, The Feast Center located at the lower ground floor of Robinsons Galleria was opened as the District’s official home giving birth to more Feast sessions in the area. To date, the family is continuously growing in number by making disciples and spreading God’s love to everyone inside and outside of The Feast.
